NATIONAL AFFAIRS:

  • PM Narendra Modi launches Crash Course Program customized for Covid-19 Frontline workers. The training will take place at 111 centres in 26 states.
  • Flying Sikh Milkha Singh passed away at the age of 91, due to Covid-19. He won gold in Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.
  • Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) announces to issue common Pollution Under Control certificate. It also aims to reduce road accidents by 50% till 2024.
  • Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate releases latest Atlas on Desertification and Land Degradation in India.
  • An agreement to manage employment and skills among youth signed between Ministry of Labor and Employment and UNDP.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs activates a National Helpline 155260 and a reporting portal through Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System.
  • Nasscom: IT sector of India to hit $300-350 billion revenues by 2025.
  • First time a private person named Aashish Chandorkar appointed as Director by India at World Trade Organization mission.
  • Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra receives gold medal in Meeting Cidade de Lisoba in Portugal.

  • Indian positioned at 135 while Iceland topped in the list of 15th Edition of Global Peace Index.
